Market CLOSED Sunday 12 April - Cyclone Vaianu

Grey Lynn Farmers Market will be CLOSED this Sunday (12 April) when Cyclone Vaianu is forecast to hit Auckland.  It will be very windy (30km/h with gusts up to 70km/h) and very wet. Some forecasters are comparing it to Cyclone Gabrielle.

Safety is our top consideration.

We are cancelling early to give everyone certainty, based on the following considerations:

• Weather forecasts have remained consistent.

• Customers are likely to stay at home, heeding official warnings.

• Potential dangers of travelling to and from the market.

This is the first time our market has ever closed because of a weather forecast – we are taking the warnings seriously.
